What's involved in a consultation
Where:
Bluff/Invercargill or online.
Times I'm available:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11am - 7pm (NZST).
Step 1 - get in touch:
Get in touch by phone/text, messenger or email, and we can sort out a time for an initial conversation about your situation and your concerns.
Step 2 - initial conversation:
This simply involves having a chat about the issue you want to work on and how it's affecting you. It allows us to explore whether I can help with your particular issue.
- Usually this is done as a phone call - you should allow around 20 minutes.
- There is no charge for the initial conversation.
Step 3 - therapy sessions:
We will start off talking in more depth about the issue you want to work on, including how you experience it, how it impacts on your life, and any particular things or circumstances that make it more or less of a problem for you. This helps us more precisely define what needs to change. We will also talk about the most appropriate therapeutic approach and make sure that you understand what's invovled and are comfortable with it before going further.
- A therapy session can be in-person or by video call and will take between 50 minutes and 90 minutes.
- Depending on the issue(s) being worked on, you will typically need between two and about five sessions. Sessions are normally scheduled a week or two apart.
- The standard cost of each therapy session is $120 (enquire about case-by-case variations if you are a student or unwaged etc.).
Step 4 - follow-up:
Hypnotherapy and other talking therapies work on your patterns of thinking, and often it takes a while for the new patterns to settle in. I like to check in with you about how it's going after a few weeks (or sooner if you like).
Up to three follow-up phone calls are included in the cost of a set of therapy sessions.
